day 92: it’s been a while since I’ve shot an engagement session. Partly it’s because I’m not doing as many weddings as family portraits this year, but mostly it’s because almost all of my couples for weddings this year are declining to do engagement sessions (totally madness if you ask me, the engagement sessions are SO fun and a good way to relax in front of the camera, but whatever). This one was ridiculously fun and made me sad that I don’t have many more of them left this year. I forgot how easy it is to do a portrait session when you don’t have anyone under the age of 5 to chase around 🙂

day 91: a few days late, but I finished Ben’s birthday cake for him to take to work. Buttermilk cake with fresh strawberry sauce for the filling and buttercream icing. YUM

day 90: Paul wearing pajamas with several pairs of socks on top.

day 89: this is one of Paul’s favorite new games – hide behind the drapes and jump out giggling. It’s pretty ridiculously cute. On Wednesday I decided to take the kids back to the doctor to recheck their rashes which hadn’t been getting better. Turns out that Amelia was getting bronchitis and Paul was getting an ear infection, so it’s a good thing I brought them in. It was a pretty exhausting day all around.

day 88: happy birthday Ben! I may not have been able to get your cake made in time but at least I got you a birthday donut, that counts for something, right? 🙂 I actually think it was a pretty fabulous day (for me at least) we got to go meet up for lunch with the babies which was a lot of fun and Sam and Tai graciously offered to babysit in the evening so we could go to a fabulous dinner out. I hope you had a good day Ben, I love you!

day 87: a picture of Ben reading my blog … on my blog. Oooooh. Spooky.

day 86: Paul is turning out to be quite the ham in front of a crowd. He loves to make people laugh and he put on quite the show at our Sunday brunch playing tug-o-war with his Aunt Tai.

day 85: probably my favorite of Paul and Amelia’s new “tricks” is one taught to them by my mom – they now actually literally stop and smell flowers. So stinkin’ cute. They wrinkle up their noses and take a big inhale sniff… and then giggle. I love it!

day 84: on Friday Ben’s parents arrived and spent most of the day hanging out with me and the kids. It’s nice for them to get some quality time with their grandparents since they don’t see them very often. Of course reading books was high on the list of “must do” activities

day 83: I’m sorry you have to see this photo. Quick close your eyes and maybe you can scroll down past it. I realized only after I’d woken up the next morning that this was the only picture I’d taken all day and that it wasn’t quite the kind of thing you’d be hoping to see on the blog. Poor Amelia (and Paul actually has a similar although slightly less red one) has this horrible rash under her arm. I was taking a picture to send to a friend to see if she could identify it.
