day 309: What a fantastic day! Jean drove all the way out from Houston so that she could hang out with Tara and I (and all the fam of course). I was so excited to see her since it’s been forever since we’ve gotten together. I made her get in front of my camera for a few minutes, even though it was freezing outside. Thanks Jean! It was so fabulous to see you and I definitely need to schedule my next trip to visit you.
After Jean left we went to my cousin’s wedding and reception. It was such a beautiful wedding and I was sad that I didn’t get to take more photos, but I wanted to stay out of the way of the hired photographer 🙂 I did however take a couple of shots of the family, and of some dancing. I got this one towards the end of the night and I think it’s so sweet! Daddy’s (and mommy’s) little girl! Congratulations Eric & Emily!

day 308 : rehearsal time
day 307 : parker wedding
day 307: I just got home from a gorgeous wedding at the Parker Meridian in Palm Springs. I’m totally exhausted and going to get on a flight tomorrow morning to Dallas (the craziness never ends) I may not be able to post any photos for the next few days, but I will be back with photos on Monday at the latest!
day 306 : backlight
day 305 : delicious!
day 305 : Ben and I have had two delicious meals in a row, thanks to our friend Jill, who suggested we go to a tasty vegan restaurant last night, and because Ben forgot his camera in her car, we met up again for lunch so he could get it back 🙂 Today we went to Cafe Bolivar in Santa Monica, which was so unbelievably tasty and affordable we will be going back many a time for sure. Take a look at the delicious arepas!
day 304 : self-portrait and sis-portrait
day 304: Well after the post yesterday Allison seemed to be concerned that she looked strange making that face 🙂 Just to prove that my sister is indeed a very pretty girl, here’s another (more flattering) shot of her from Disneyland yesterday evening. And my photo for the day… it’s been a while since I posted a self portrait so here you go. So much for the one self portrait a month 🙂
day 303 : the face
day 303: What happens when you carry your camera with you everywhere you go for an entire year, snapping photos of your same friends and family members? Eventually they start making faces at you in hopes that you will not take their picture. Here are two examples of “the face”. Nice guys. But I’m still going to take your picture 🙂
day 302 : yum.
day 301 : aint it perty?
day 300 : and i didn’t even know it
day 300: I can’t believe I didn’t notice (until just right now) that it’s day 300 of this little blog of mine! Wow… I don’t even have anything fancy to post. Oops.
Tonight after going out to the movies I immediately launched into a discussion about focal length and depth of field (is that all I think about these days?) so Ben and I pulled out the tape measure to see what effect various focal length/aperture combinations have on my depth of field in a more concrete sense (how many in-focus inches do you get at 50mm f1.4 when you’re 5 feet away? anyone?) Thanks for holding the tape measure Ben… and for putting up with my photo-crazed self for the last 300 days!
